The beer I will be talking about today is a famous beer out of the Dominican Republic called Presidente. A little background information about this beer , among the most distinctive cultural symbols in the Dominican Republic, Presidente Beer has become an iconic brand that represents Dominicans both in the country and abroad. The Presidente brand of beer has become a symbol of national pride, and in its 71-year history has become the beer of choice for Dominicans. Presidente is what Corona is to Mexico. It is hands down the number one beer in the Dominican Republic.
I was first aquainted with the beer when I went to the Dominican Republic back in 06 it sort of tastes like Corona because of the sour taste. The only difference is that it has a darker color to it. Also in the Dominican sun it really quenches your thirst. To be honest after a few days the beer kind of grew on me. The good thing about this beer is that it does not leave you with a full feeling like many beers do. Unlike Corona and other famous foreign beers Presidente is not regularly sold in your local super markets and regularly carried in alot of bars. You basically can only really find it in the beverage distributors. My personal opinion is that if you have not allready tried this beer PLEASE DO!!!
